The Porsche Carrera Cup has over 300 races under its belt already and it is now in its 19th year. The Carrera Cup is the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK and each season is spread over 16 rounds, and 8 venues.
Each car in the Carrera Cup is an identical 485hp 911 GT3 Cup Car. In terms of performance, there is no difference between the cars. This means that outstanding driver skill and shrewd team preparation are the key to success.
The Carrera Cup runs alongside the British Touring Car Championship and each race weekend is featured live on ITV4.
Harry King entered the championship last year as the Carrera Cup GB Junior driver for the 2020/2021 seasons. Last year, Harry was crowned the Carrera Cup GB Champion and this year he is back again to defend that title. He is joined by one of the championship’s most successful drivers, Dan Cammish who will also be eager for another championship win under his belt.
Harry is the man to beat this year and Porsche Centre Chester are backing him all the way. At Porsche Centre Chester our team are big fans of motorsport. Our own Centre Principal Carl Hazelton competes in the Porsche Club Championship . However, the Carrera Cup has always been the ultimate championship for us to follow, and in particular we love to follow the journey of the junior drivers.
At Porsche Centre Chester, we find it important to support young ambitious people which is why we have taken on numerous apprentices over the years within different departments to enable them to begin successful careers in the business.
The Carrera Cup Junior Programme also nurtures young talent, and as such, the chosen Junior for the Carrera Cup receives benefits such as funding towards their racing budget, support from Porsche Motorsport Engineers, specialist media training and a full fitness programme with the Porsche Human Performance team.
The season kicked off this month at Snetterton where Harry secured 2nd and 3rd positions in his two races. Porsche Centre Chester is particularly looking forward to the round at Oulton Park which is on the 31st July and 1st August. Carl Hazelton will be hosting 25 customers in the hospitality areas at Oulton Park, and they will also get the opportunity to meet Harry King whilst there.
Porsche Centre Chester will also be displaying the full model range at the Oulton Park round of Carrera Cup, and we will also have Carl’s race car on display there too.
We look forward to watching the next round which is at Brands Hatch. Good luck to Harry from the Porsche Centre Chester team!

For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.

To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
