The annual Porsche Centre Chester European road trip returned this month, and this year the event welcomed nine stunning Porsches, two hosts and fourteen customers. This unique event hosted exclusively for customers of the Centre provides an unforgettable six-day trip exploring the stunning city of Cologne, Germany and Spa, Belgium.
Hosting the event was Carl Hazelton, Centre Principal and Iain Joshua, General Sales Manager. Once onboard the ferry to Rotterdam, the group enjoyed dinner together whilst reminiscing on previous year’s trips, and what was to come this year. Everyone was in agreement upon one thing…this was going to be a sensational trip.
The six days consisted of a road trip through Holland to Cologne where everyone stayed for two nights. The first day was spent perusing the city followed by an evening meal in the hotel. The following day, the group battled it out at the Michael Schumacher Go-Karting Centre. The go karting tournament is always a major talking point on this trip, and after a gruelling 45 minute battle, everyone enjoyed a well earned drink and bite to eat. That evening the group met at Ponchos Steakhouse in the centre of Cologne which is another firm favourite for guests that attend our Cologne trip!
The following day, the convoy enjoyed a scenic drive through Germany before experiencing lunch at an iconic little restaurant located close to the Nurburgring, known as The Pistenklause. It was founded by the Schmitz family, whose daughter Sabine was renowned for her racing over the years. Following lunch, the convoy drove to Spa in Belgium where they spent the next two nights.
The next day, the group enjoyed a full day at the famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps which is home to the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, Spa 24 Hours and 1000 km Spa endurance races. It is one of the most challenging race tracks in the world, mainly due to its fast, hilly and twisty nature, validating Spa’s reputation as a favourite circuit for many racing drivers and fans.
It was an amazing day on the track, allowing customers were able to enjoy their cars where they can often feel most at home.
The trip was truly amazing, made special once again by our customers.
