On Friday 16 June, Porsche Centre Chester hosted a superbly special evening, encapsulated by artistic talent, delectable catering, laughter and above all an amazing sense of brand appreciation, highlighted by the immersible nature of the Porsche art on display. The evening’s premise was led by the cutting-edge dreams concept of Porsche, which has been progressively gaining momentum throughout the duration of 2023 on a national scale.
Porsche, Wallpaper* and Lusion, earlier this year presented an exceptional blend of technology, art, and animation that encapsulated the Porsche Driven by Dreams brand ethos. Digital studio Lusion, created a short film inspired by the Ferry Porsche dream of a modern sports car, the catalyst that inspired the brand. Using generative art and expressive motion graphics to illustrate the evolution of the creative process from the spark of conception to the finished car, the dynamic visual journey culminates in an exotic representation of the distinctive flowing silhouette of the Porsche that started it all, the 356/1.
This extraordinary brand philosophy inspired, thus fuelled the Centre’s artistic competition which has run throughout the year, thus has inspired budding artists and Porsche enthusiasts to send in their abstract interpretations of a Porsche 911 for the chance to be selected and displayed at our recent exhibition evening.
This competition was like nothing Porsche Centre Chester has ever done before, and the event was a commemorative celebration of the iconic Porsche model, the 911, as we celebrated the 75th-year anniversary of Porsche, as a car manufacturer. There is a plethora of memorable vehicles throughout the course of Porsche history, however not many stand out like the Porsche 911 does, as in all its guises, it is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the sports car world.
The entire Chester team had a superb evening catching up with so many friendly faces, admiring the art and listening to the smooth, dulcet tones of the superb jazz singer, Jo Harrop and the highly-talented guitarist, John Bailey, who certainly provided a fabulous ambience.
The evening raised an impressive £670.00 for The Joshua Tree Charity, a charity operating across the North West and North Wales dedicated to working closely with the families affected by childhood cancers, thus providing art therapy to both families and children. The Centre is honoured to support such a heart-warming, local cause, thus we are elated our art competition succeeded in raising awareness and funds for this exceptional charity based in Northwich.
A huge thank you to all those who submitted artwork throughout the duration of the year, and to all those who were auspicious enough to be exhibited, the standard of art was immense with many of the pieces being purchased on the evening, by avid art admirers and Porsche lovers alike. The art exhibition was a prodigious success for the Centre, the entrants and all those in attendance, and we look forward to incorporating the Driven by Dreams conception into further events as 2023 progresses.
