In June 2021, Porsche set a new lap-record at the Nurburgring in a GT2 RS fitted with a Manthey Performance Kit. Lars Kern completed the Nurburgring in just 6:43.300 making it to this day the fastest road-production car to ever go around the ‘Green Hell’.
Porsche Centre Chester is delighted to announce that the Manthey Performance Kit is now available for both the 991.2 generations of GT2 RS and GT3 RS.
The Porsche Development Centre and the engineers at Manthey Racing have combined their respective technologies and know-how to develop a finely tuned package that allows certain GT cars to deliver an unbelievably charged performance that could not otherwise be achieved.
Available as a full kit or as individual components, the Manthey Performance Parts have been specifically developed between the engineers at Manthey and the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach.
As track lovers ourselves, at Porsche Centre Chester we know that many of our GT customers enjoy using their cars on track days, and with the Manthey Performance Kit, these cars will have optimised track performance without compromising on-road performance.
Let’s use the GT2 RS as an example…
At speeds of 124mph, the downforce at the front of the car has been increased from 49kg to 70kg, and 93kg to 200kg at the rear end. The rear wing is directly attached to the body by means of special supports, and gives a 70% increase in overall downforce. After breaking the Nurburgring lap-record, Lars Kern described the GT2 RS with the Manthey Performance Kit as ‘sticking to the track like glue’.
With the threaded suspension, you are able to adjust the suspension to make it as hard or as soft as you need it.
An additional water tank for charge air cooling increases the standard volume by around 9 litres which allows the air intake air temperature to be cooled for longer, thus achieving maximum power yield.
If you have experienced ‘brake fade’ at a race track, you will really appreciate the brake package within the Manthey Performance Kit. The racing brake pads for the ceramic braking system improve the fading characteristics as well as the responsiveness and control. Lars Kern comments that “It is truly breathtaking how the car puts its 700PS down and how incredibly well it brakes.”
The Manthey Performance Kit is available to order now from Porsche Centre Chester. Once the parts have been ordered, we will organise a convenient time with you to bring your car to our workshop, and the kit will be fitted to your vehicle by our experienced Porsche-trained Technicians. These parts are then covered by a two year parts and labour Porsche warranty. Currently the kit is available for the 991.2 generations of GT2 RS and GT3 RS, and now also recently the 992 GT3.
